Unbelievable Concrete Speakers

Today we discovered Israeli designer Shmuel Linski, a graduate of Shenkar College of Engineering and Design, who made these unbelievable concrete speakers which look fantastic and apparently also sound amazing. Linksi’s speakers, Exposed, are built using a horn speaker, which involves a driver moving air through a pipe and out of a horn-shaped opening.

Linski, who moulded the speakers himself as part of a graduation project, says he likes working with this “raw, rough material” because it is usually only ever used as a “hidden material covered by layers of plaster and paint.”

The speakers, which weigh an impressive 123 pounds, are a great piece of design and their visual appeal and striking appearance are sure to give them an incredible presence in any room.

Linski and Lotem Selz founded the Linski Design Studios and say their work stretches between design, high skilled craftsmanship and art. They design and manufacture unique custom-made concrete furniture and objects for architectural and interior design projects, including these beautiful speakers, which certainly combine art and design.

Shmuel is an adventurer and explorer who is able to blend simple, raw craft work with cutting edge technology in an unexpected and innovative manner.
